Choral Scholarships

To celebrate our twentieth year, Daventry Choral Society has set up a Young Persons’ Choral Award scheme.  The aim of the choral awards is to encourage young people to join the choir who would not otherwise have done so, in the hope that they will become regular singers and continue the choral tradition from which members of the Choral Society have derived such pleasure and satisfaction.

We are offering four awards worth £240 each per annum, to be paid at the rate of £80 per term, to start from September 2010.  The payment of each term’s allowance is conditional on the award holder meeting our usual requirements for attendance at rehearsals and concerts. We want to attract students in full-time education or in their gap-year, who are between the ages of 16-25 years and who are interested in singing in a large choir.

Christ Church, Southgate - Choral Scholarships Four new choral scholarships of £500 p.a. are now on offer at Christ Church, Southgate (London N14).  The scholarships are designed for young singers aged c.16-25 of all voice parts to augment the volunteer choir at Friday evening rehearsals and at Sunday Eucharist and Choral Evensong.  Christ Church has a very strong choral tradition and the choir gives concerts and tours regularly.  Many former members have gone on to be Oxbridge choral scholars and into the profession.
